I AM MY BRAND
When we were kids we all heard the same question over and over again.
“What do you want to be when you grow up?”
The typical answers are a super hero, a firefighter, a dancer, an athlete, a lawyer or a doctor. Some of you have worked really hard to make your childhood dream a reality while some of us are still working at it. The question is, does this mean that we haven’t grown up yet?
Of course Not! We just need a little more time.
A few generations ago it was a child’s dream to take over their family business. This was a big deal back then where children would work hard to learn the all the moving parts of how to run the family business so they could one day take it over. However, in this generation, we have so many creative people in the world that want to start their own business but the problem is they don't know where to start.
Well, guess what....it starts with YOU!
I am here to tell you that, YOU ARE YOUR OWN BRAND!
No matter what you're good at or what your business may be about, no one can be more excited about your business venture then you. You have to put forth the effort and take pride in your work no matter what it is. You have to take the time to learn how to operate a business and make yourself marketable. If your good at making custom socks, then get you some business cards, make a bunch of socks and find an event where you can promote your work. When it comes to starting a business you have to be confident, marketable, willing to work hard, and surround yourself around like minded people who will celebrate you and connect you to the resources you need.
And remember nothing comes easy!
There will be times of rejection, but never doubt yourself because “Faith without works is dead!” Working your faith and your vision is a MUST so believe in yourself and take ownership.
I strongly believe that each and everyone of you are more than capable of building your own business. Go open that catering business from your kitchen or that graphic design shop from your living room. Remain professional at all times, have business cards on hand and most of all stay organized. No one has to know you are a start up if you work your vision like you have been doing this your entire life!
It starts with YOU!
Market yourself!
And take yourself seriously!
You can do this!
