MEET SANDY...

Picture
Thank you for sharing your story with us Sandy, tell us a little about yourself...

My name is Sandy Raquel Moller. I am  Mexicana by birth but 100% Bolivian Blood. I am currently working as an Assistant Principal/ Dual Language and ESL Director.  In my free time, when I am not planning my wedding I love to rest and sleep! My job requires a lot of hours in and out of the clock. When I get free time, I lounge around and enjoy my quiet time. I also like going on walks, and playing board games. I love spending time with my family and my fiance. Their company brings so much joy and peace. Oh, and I love to sing. I am constantly singing- it brings me peace.

What is your passion?

Teaching, leading, and helping in any capacity. I love being part of people's journey. Their growth is what makes me thrive. I am a school administrator, a dream that I thought I would never accomplish! I love working with teachers and helping and supporting their growth. I love cheering people on! I love working with students and families and helping them be successful in their education. One of my other passions is to help people see God's love for them. I lead a young adult group and love it! Helping them grown in their faith has helped me grow in mine.

What obstacles have you encountered to get to this point in your life?

Fear, and self doubt always come knocking at my door. Every time, I face rejection or feel left out in my field, or don't get the support I need, I remind myself that I am worthy. Every rejection and failure is a lesson in disguise. Being a Latina leader in an Anglican world is not easy. There are times, I feel alone, different, irrelevant and unable to navigate the mainstream world, BUT I focus on what unites us. We are all humans , we have feelings, emotions, and fears. My faith has really helped me overcome my obstacles. When storms come my way, I find myself on my knees. I remind myself that God has me where he wants me. I am here to serve, so I am embracing servant leadership and that has helped me tremendously.

Do you doing what you love?

Yes! Not only am following my dream of becoming a school administrator but I also get to mentor and lead a group of young adults at my local church. It's important to balance life. If you can serve in many capacities then do it. While you are young, take advantage and do as much as you can for others. SERVE! Young people have energy and creativity, we need that in our world. I am also loving what I am doing because I know that God has placed me where I need to be. I trust that He has placed me strategically where I am in my life for a bigger purpose than what I can imagine.

How do you deal/cope with stress?

I snack!! LOL Chips are my favorite! No, but really I tend to deal with stress on a day to day basis. I'm no expert at dealing with stress but I am becoming a bit more alert of my triggers. I try my best to remind myself that every problem has a solution. I step back, close my computer, go for walk and sometimes it helps just to "cry it out". I use prayer as a way to mediate and I enjoy talking to my loved ones. They help me re-gain my strength and remind me that I can do it!

What is one of your fears?

Sickness. I want to serve God and people and without health I am afraid I wont be able to do so. I remind myself that God is in control and I tried to stay as healthy as possible. I also know that there are many people out there that have touched and reached out to thousands despite their illness.

How do you stay motivated?

I surround myself with positive people. I also have family and friends who's faith is strong, they inspire me. They encourage me and pray for me when I need some motivation. It's important to have a strong circle of friends and family to help you. I'm blessed that I have a strong circle of family and friends who motivate me and remind me of who I am. It's a good feeling to know that someone is praying for you.

If you could change the world by doing ONE thing, what would it be?

I would give everyone a puppy! Puppies bring joy, right? LOL. But seriously we can all change the world by the way we live. Be a light! Through your example you can bring joy, love, compassion, forgiveness, faith and more to those around you. There is so much negativity out there how about you and I start by loving each other? :)

Sandy thank you again for sharing so much about your life with us. As an educator and a leader in the education system you hold a very important role in our children's future. I pray that God gives you strength to continue to lead others and change the lives of many people, young and old.
