My Vanity + Organization

As a mom of three I do not get much time to myself so when I became a makeup lover I declared that time as my daily ME TIME! It is my time to focus on me, to be creative and feel like I am taking care of myself. As my makeup collection began to grow I started to look up ways to store it. I would spend hours on youtube looking up different organization tips and I was even debating on creating my own DIY vanity. Little did I know that Marcus was thinking the same thing. I am not sure if he was tired of opening the medicine cabinet and finding makeup everywhere or if he really felt that I  needed this in my life. Regardless of his reasoning when i opened my gift on Christmas I could  not help but feel like a little girl again... he had gifted me my very own VANITY!

I couldn't believe it, my very own vanity, a place that was just for me. As he began to assemble it I could envision myself sitting on this elegant, dainty, vintage looking makeup table full for hours blending away for hours. Of course I couldn't wait to make it my own and find special pieces that would allow my little corner to be filled with pieces that would encourage me to me the best version of myself every single day. It took some time but its finally coming together until our next move :)

I started by purchasing some Hollywood Lights from Amazon. They were so easy to put on and they gave the vanity a modern glam look that I was looking for. The room its in does not have a lot of light and when I turn these on they light up the entire room. They also have a dimmer so if your not a fan of bright LED lights you can dim them.  I found the Lack Shelves from IKEA which were perfect because I did not want to hang anything on the walls and I wanted something that I can use as a background while filming my videos. I kept the color scheme Black, White and Gold to keep it clean and elegant looking. Each item placed on the Lack Shelf means something special to me just the way I wanted it.

Now,  because I have more makeup than the average girl, I knew I was going to need more storage for my extra makeup and decided to go with an IKEA Alex 5 Drawer. Michaels as a dupe for these drawers too if you want to save a little money you can find them there too. Again, brace yourself because like I said I have more makeup than the average person, it is my hobby and I just LOVE IT!
