Confession: I am my biggest critic. When things are not going well I beat myself up so bad that I cry and I stress myself out. Am I the only one who does this or do you do this too? I’ve gotten better about this over the years but there are times that I revert back and forget how hard I’ve worked to get to where I am today. This week was one of those weeks, I caught myself complaining and being negative which is something I try my hardest not to do. We are all human and sometimes we have to remind ourselves that we are in control of our own attitude towards life. Here are some things that have worked for me and maybe they will work for you. If your workplace has become a negative place then approach it with a positive attitude. Tell yourself, “Today I will let no one bring me down.” Smile and talk about the positive things at your job. You never know! Someone around you may not be as strong as you are and needs some of your positive vibes. You probably stopped them from quitting and changed their perspective about how to approach life. If your friends have become negative then bring it to their attention and if they choose to stay the same then hang around a different crowd! You need to surround yourself with positive energy because if you don’t you will never see the good in things. I know it’s hard, trust me I do, but what good does it do you to complain about everything. You are in control, find your center and change your outlook. You will feel so much better. You will soon begin to look at the positive outcomes instead of the negatives. You will complain less and stop making excuses for yourself. Your language will change and so will your behaviors. This doesn’t mean that now the world will be full of glitter sparkles and everyone will live in perfect harmony... harmony ...HARMONY, sorry I’ve watched trolls for the thousandth time this week, but you cannot allow anyone to bring you down. You have worked so hard to get to where you are and no one can ever take that away from you.
