AM I SUPERWOMAN?

There comes a moment in a woman's life, maybe around the age of 17 through 19, where she starts to wonder about her future. No matter what her present may look like she starts to think about what the next level in her life should be. Some women don't think about it too much because we like to plan what we can control!

I knew at the age of 16 that my goal in life was to be married, have a great career and have 2 children by the age of 25. Crazy right!? What 16 year old do you know today is already thinking about marriage and children. But that was me! I have always been a planner! I love making goals for my life and accomplishing them, but with my schedule, it's pretty hard to do. I am 31, married, I have 3 amazing daughters (don’t ask if we are going for the boy!), I have a great career and I'm a First Lady (yup my husband's a Pastor). When I sit and reflect on where my life is right now I get exhausted and I say to myself "you are crazy". “How in the world did you pull that off?” However I have come to the realization that "I WAS BUILT FOR THIS!" I was made to be able to care for my home, excel at work and better myself. Could I have done this on my own? NO. Do I do this on my own? NO. My husband and family are a big help however my strength comes from a much greater man, GOD!

I have come to the realization that before I take on a new project or role I have to take some time out and consult with God! No, my conversations with him are not fashioned with thee's and thou's but they are serious conversations because without Him I couldn't do any of this. It sounds so cliche, I know, " God will supply all your needs". We hear it often but in my life MY GOD GIVES ME STRENGTH.

It is so important that as a woman I make sure that my relationship with God is priority because He is the one who allows me to function with only 4-5 hours of sleep and sometimes no coffee(Extra prayer is needed on these days)! However, I understand why I am able to function and not lose my mind. If every woman would take 5-10 minutes out of their morning and consult with God about what their day looks like; I believe your day would go a lot smoother. Just 5 to 10 minutes, our drive to work is longer than that so you have the time!

I had to realize that there are so many women who cannot handle multiple tasks at a time or handle multiple things in their life and that's ok! If you are one of these women, do not frustrate yourself or drive yourself crazy trying to juggle life! Find your center, find your quiet space and consult with God to give you the strength you need to become Superwoman! Remember, only God can put SUPER on your Natural! So take it one step at a time, baby steps! Don’t try to do it all at once because I’m on year 12 and I still get overwhelmed. I don’t have it all together but I try!

A superwoman has the strength to push through and get things done. A Superwoman can juggle multiple things at a time like career, home, children, ministry and school! So the next time you encounter a superwoman just know that the reason why she can hold that title is because she takes the time to ask God for the strength and patience she will need for that day! She approached every situation, not out of fear, but with courage and determination. She is aware of the road ahead and plans accordingly, with the aid of the Holy Spirit. She is the anchor, the intercessor and the nurturer of her family. "She is a Woman of God!"
So ask yourself, Am I a Superwoman?
