Take Care of Your King!

Women have always fantasized about being treated like a queen. Why do you think we fall in love with romance novels or movies? It’s because the male character is always doing the sweetest things that make us feel all mushy inside. We want our own personal Edward or Noah. We have this mindset that in order for a man to prove they love us they need to cater to us. It makes us feel valued and of importance. I always hear it, treat your woman like a queen, but what about the man? Don’t you think they deserve to be treated like a king?

The feeling is mutual ladies! You cannot expect to be treated like a queen and you don’t treat your man like a king. It’s just not right. Men need to be taken care of not just physically but emotionally as well, this is important. You cannot expect him to listen to you if you don’t listen to him. Men are not vocal human beings so you need to be able to catch what he is trying to say with his behavior. You should be able to tell when something is bothering him and know how to ask what's wrong. It goes both ways.

In relationships the man and the woman have different roles. In Ephesians it states the man is the head and you are to let him lead you. However, if he is not a leader and you are than make it a priority to help him become the head of the house.

How do I do that?

Help him in a loving way, don’t nag at him or exploit his flaws. Let him lead and you follow. What ever is not working, talk about it and compromise. By nature women like to be in control so it is important to sometimes step back and let go of somethings to allow him to help. It is no one else's business who takes care of what in the relationship that is between you and your husband.

In 1 Peter‬ ‭3:1‬ , it says, “Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives.”
‭‭
Maybe I look at things differently because Marcus and I have literally grown up together. We had a lot of growing and learning to do but we did it TOGETHER! I think that is the important part in a relationship, everything should be done together. There is no 50/50, you both have to give it your 100% to make it work. So if you expect to be treated like a queen and have him do sweet things for you, then you make sure you do sweet things for him!

Take care of your king...

You want him to cook for you, then cook for him... find out what his favorite dishes are and incorporate that in your dinner schedule.

You want him to talk to you, then talk to him... ask him how his day has been and listen to what he is saying. Respond with questions to let him know what he is talking about is important.

You want him to be in tune with your feelings, well tune in to his feelings... observe his behavior and know what his triggers are. Remember men are not vocal so they will say more with their behavior. if you ask what's wrong and he does not share let it go. He will share when he is ready.

You want him to surprise you with gifts, then surprise him with gifts... find out what he likes and get it for him. Sometimes its not even materialistic things it can be taking him to an event that hes been talking about.

You want him to pray for you, then pray for him!

Women just like you want your king to take care of you, you need to take care of him. It is important to make him feel appreciated and cared for. You cannot assume he knows you have to show him.

Love Jo
